A new insight into the mechanism of persistent luminescence phosphors SrS: Eu<sup>2+</sup>, Pr<sup>3+</sup>

The red persistent luminescence phosphors SrS: Eux2+, Pry3+ (x = 0∼0.001, y 0∼0.003) were synthesized by the solid-state reaction method in a weak reducing atmosphere of active carbon. synthetic parameters, photoluminescence characteristics, and dynamic properties thermoluminescence studied systematically. According to results spectra Pry3+, energy level scheme was confirmed quantitatively. Based on studies scanning electron microscope (SEM), UV-Visible absorbance spectra, afterglow decay curves, thermoluminescence(TL) X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) we found that Eu0.00012+, Pr0.0033+ (SSEP) phosphor presented best property, which mainly resulted from its outstanding characteristic, deeper depth VS⋅ (VS⋅⋅) defects, fewer defect concentration belonging higher-order kinetics. Those comprehensive deduced complex (VS⋅⋅)-V′′Sr should present Eu2+ doping phosphors, Pr3+ will produce PrSr⋅ can suppress formation defects increase their depth.
